Embracing Veganism and Portuguese Heritage
Tiago and Gerda, the co-founders of Plantuguese, found each other through their shared passion for vegan lifestyle. Interestingly, their paths first crossed on a vegan dating app. United by their love for plant-based living, they soon discovered another mutual love - cooking.
Together, Tiago and Gerda embarked on a culinary adventure. Cooking became their shared language of love, as they spent countless hours in the kitchen, experimenting with flavours and ingredients. Inviting friends, family, and their community to join them, they crafted delectable vegan dishes infused with warmth and care.
Food brings people together on many different levels. It’s nourishment of the soul and body - it is truly love.
The Birth of Plantuguese
Encouraged by the overwhelming praise for their food, their friends and loved ones urged them to share their creations with a wider audience. Inspired by Tiago's Portuguese heritage and culinary skills learned from his grandmother, they envisioned a venture that would celebrate Portuguese culture through vegan cuisine.
Thus, the concept of Plantuguese was born. With a name that cleverly combines "plant-based" and "Portuguese" their vision crystallised into a mission: to introduce authentic Portuguese flavours to the UK's vegan community and maybe beyond. Departing from their previous business endeavours, Tiago and Gerda dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to realising their dream.
